The Eastern Cape government says the Sanitary Dignitary Campaign will benefit over one-thousand children in ten schools in the province.

On Tuesday the provincial government hosted a drive in Peddie to restore the dignity of a girl child.

Mayor of the Ngqushwa Municipality Solomzi Ndwayana has stressed the importance of keeping a girl child in school.

Ndwanyana said people must look after their children especially girl children because they are prone to abuse by unscrupulous people.

“Let’s carry forward this fight especially here in Ngqushwa because if we take girls to school we will go a long way in alleviating poverty” Ndwayana added.
