MEC Winde encourages residents to save money

The Western Cape Government is partnering with consumer protection agencies to conduct savings awareness sessions across the province.

The MEC of Economic Opportunities Alan Winde hopes this will encourage a culture of savings.

Ministerial Spokesperson Bronwynne Jooste said MEC Winde said they need to encourage a culture of saving so that more residents can be prepared for emergencies as well as retirement.

Jooste added that It is also important that more residents have access to financial literacy programmes. It is our goal that through these savings awareness sessions, which are taking place throughout the province and residents will have the skills they need to better manage their finances.
