The National Union of Mineworkers welcomes
the verified and audited process conducted by the Chamber of Mines in regard to
the boxes of AMCU application forms presented to the three Gold producers.
NUM says it is not surprised to hear that
6 000 stop orders submitted by AMCU are invalid.
Acting NUM National Spokesperson Livhuwani
Mammburu said some of the members went back to the NUM and others were people
who were unemployed.
Mammburu said some of the stop orders were
duplicate and we view this as fraudulent activity and it’s unacceptable.
“We are calling for an independent
verification process to be conducted by the platinum companies in the platinum
belt” Mammburu added.
