Suspect arrested contravening the Medicines Control Act

The City of Cape Town arrested 127 suspects over the past weekend of which one suspect was arrested for contravening the Medicines Control Act.
Deputy Chief Metro Police Yolande Faro said the members came across 37 bottles of codeine cough syrup during a joint operation with the South African Police Service in Milnerton focusing on liquor enforcement.

“Apart from the charges pertaining to the Medicines Control Act, the suspect will also face a charge of being in possession of stolen goods” Faro added.

Meanwhile through the Stabilisation Unit 14 suspects were arrested on drug-related charges during their first day of deployment in Manenberg.
