The Department of Health said two doctors practicing at Evander District Hospital near Secunda in Mpumalanga may face criminal charges.

This is after the hospital laid murder charges against the pair following the death of a teen mother after caesarean.

The department in a statement said preliminary clinical investigations reveals that the pair acted outside the rule by not adhering to prescribed clinical guidelines when attending to the teen pregnant mother.

Ministerial Spokesperson Joe Maila said the Department of Health has laid two charges against the doctors at Venda District Hospital after a teen mom died at the hospital.

We believe that this is not only an issue of negligence or malpractice, but rather a clinical case, Maila added.
