Head-on collision leaves nine dead, three critically injured

A head on collision this morning involving a mini bus taxi and a truck along the N1 in Limpopo, left nine people dead.

It is believed that the vehicles collided head-on after which the minibus caught fire.

Road Traffic Management Corporation Spokesperson Simon Zwane said, The Road Traffic Management Corporation has sent in investigators to Limpopo to investigate the exact cause of the accident that happened early this morning, where nine people are believed to have died.

“The information that we have is that seven others and two children died in the accident, three other people were transported to hospital in critical conditions.” Zwane added.

Zwane said the cause of the crash was being investigated.
