Today, the
International Young Professionals Foundation in the Western Cape will lay an
official complaint at the Public Protector, against the Premier of the Western
Cape, Helen Zille, MEC of Public Works Donald Grant, Education MEC Debbie
Schafer and City of Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille.
The complaint
relates to the construction work done at Scottsdene Senior Secondary in
Kraaifontein and Hawston Primary School.
The foundation
says, into the third week of the second half of the academic year, learners
still cannot access proper learning in the classrooms.
IYPF’s Magnus Jongh
said “We will be going to the Public Protector to lay a charge against the
Provincial Government of the Western Cape for the Public Protector to investigate
this shady workmanship, also the supply chain processes relating to Scottsdene
Secondary School and Hawston Primary School”.
