The City of Cape Town says it is moving ahead with its plan to unlock economic opportunities through the establishment, management and development of the Khayelitsha Industrial Park.

The City’s Property Management Department has therefore decided to follow a more popular trend in industrial development by facilitating the establishment, development and management of the industrial park.

City’s Executive Deputy Mayor Ian Neilson says, any development must be to the benefit of the community.

“These properties are already developed and have been standing there for many years with very little interest from the Industrial developer. Our proposal is to put the full 27 on the market for a single developer to buy their properties and to merge them into Business Park” Neilson added.
