Today, Western Cape MEC for
Social Development, Albert Fritz, will launch the innovative Youth Skills
Transfer Programme.
The programme is an initiative
of the department in partnership with the Community Chest and Cape Nature.
MEC Fritz says, the
partnership with the Cape Nature Chest and Cape Nature will set the YST offer a
customised package of skills development workshops for youth who are not
educated, employed, skilled or trained and will benefit 390 young people.
Fritz added that “We are keen
to train more than 390 young people who are unemployed. In that programme we
hope to secure young people to form their own companies for their own Events
Management projects, so that government can prioritize them for business”.
“We are very excited to take
young people from unemployment right into opportunities for work and that they
will create themselves their own future” MEC Fritz.
