Pietermaritzburg new born found on doorstep

A new born baby was found on a door step this morning at a residence in Cottonwood Place in Panarama Gardens in Pietermaritzburg.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said, “ER24 paramedics were called to the scene when the homeowner found the young patient laying on his doorstep."

Meiring said, ''We immediately assessed the child and found that she had child had suffered mild hyperthermia but was in a stable condition. 

He said, 'the young patient was treated by advanced life support and transported to Northdale hospital for further assessment and treatment.”


Paramedics said the baby is in a stable condition at hospital.

SAPS were informed and will conduct further investigations.
