Western Cape Education Department says it
has received a clean audit for the 2014/15 financial year.
Spokesperson Jessica Shelver said all 13
provincial departments received unqualified audit results, with 12 of the 13
achieving clean audits.
The Western Cape Department is the first
department of education to achieve this status.
“A clean audit is the most telling measure
of good government spending and it is the best possible audit outcome.” Shelve
said.
Shelver also said the challenge now becomes
to maintain in it in financial years ahead an internal controls are each and
every individual’s responsibility and should be rooted in our culture.
