Corruption Watch South Africa says it will be monitoring the awarding of land claims.

This follows reports of irregularities in awarding claims to beneficiaries.

Addressing a group of community radio reporters via Skype in Cape Town today, spokesperson Moira Campbell, says corruption around land claims is still problematic.

“I think very often the officials and the system takes advantage of the fact that people may not be informed about the process. We've had a couple of case that have indicated that those are the main issues. But I think we would really like to encourage a relationship with communities,”  Campbell said.
