Western Cape MEC of Health
Nomafrench Mbombo will visit Khayelitsha Day Hospital to teach the community
about foetal Alcohol Syndrome tomorrow.
The world commemorates this day annually.
MEC Mbombo in a statement said
this is a day for creating awareness amongst expectant mothers to avoid the use
of alcohol while pregnant.
Ministerial Spokesperson
Collen Smart said they are hoping that they can create awareness about this
disease that is attacking our communities.
Smart added that it has
reversible impact to our children and that’s why we are focusing on commemorating
World Foetal Alcohol Syndrome Day.
