Truck driver injured in truck collision on N3

A truck driver in his thirties is fortunate to have sustained only minor injuries when his truck collided into the back of a stationary truck on the N3 Cato Ridge south-off ramp.


ER24 Spokesperson Werner Vermaak reported that paramedics arrived on the scene and found the severely mangled wreck on the side of the road.


Paramedics found the driver of the truck sitting on a nearby guardrail with only a few scrapes and bruises.

The driver explained to paramedics that he managed to climb out of the wreckage prior to paramedics’ arrival.

He was treated on the scene and transported to Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg hospital for further treatment.

The driver of the other truck could not be located on the scene at the time.
