Woman shot for stokvel money

Cape Town Police have called on members of the public to help in locating three suspects for murder of a woman in Lotus Squatter Camp, Gugulethu on Friday last week.

The woman was killed after being robbed of her stokvel savings money.

It is alleged that three unidentified men went to her house and demanded money from her.

Police Spokesperson FC van Wyk said the suspects demanded her bank card and pin where after one suspect went to the ATM to withdraw money, whilst the other two stayed behind searching for the money and found it inside the house.

Van Wyk added that the woman was shot and fatally wounded and the suspects fled the scene.

A case of murder and house robbery is being investigated.
