Cape Town Train Station shooting leaves one dead

Police are investigating a shooting at Cape Town station in the city’s CBD which apparently left one person dead today.

Western Cape police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel André Traut said an unknown man allegedly shot himself at platform 24 at about midday.

He says he then began shooting in all directions. The man then turned the gun on himself and shot himself in the mouth.

“The circumstances surrounding the death of an unknown man is being investigated by police following an incident where he shot and killed himself at platform 24 Cape Town railway shooting.” Traut said.
