The Congress of South African
Trade Union in the Western Cape
says that it is ready for the national strike that will take place today.
Instead of reporting for work,
all Cosatu unions will take part in the strike.
“It [strike] will be led by a
march to Parliament where we will handover a memorandum. The memorandum will
focus on the job loses and the lack of the economy to provide jobs for the
unemployed. We also want to change in policy around toll roads, around taxation
policies and around an effective public transport system.” Cosatu Western Cape secretary Tony Ehrenreich said.
