The South African Communist
Party says it fully supported the COSATU workers in the struggle against the
capitalist actions within the working sector.
The SACP’s spokesperson
Masonwabe Sokoyi emphasised that retrenchments within the work place are a
declaration of war on the workers and the poor, he also said what has been
taking place within the work sector has been a total disregard to the workers
by the capitalists bosses.
“We can not continue to give
licenses to the people to exploit our minerals when they do not care decent
work. We are a government of the people therefore we should respond to what
they want. SACP’s Sokoyi said.
Meanwhile,
members from Rhodes Must fall were also present at the protest, representing
the working class and also the cleaners in the working sector.
The
transformation group launched a protest on Tuesday and are asking for a salary
increase of R10 500 for cleaners.
“We
have been taking about trying to end exploitation of the workers in South
Africa predominantly institutions of higher learning where so many of out
people are outsourced and that in itself creates so many inequalities and
desperation within the wotking community. Masixole Mlandu from Rhodes Must Fall
said.
