Two men died and several
others were injured when the driver lost control of the vehicle they were
travelling in on Main Reef Road, between springs and Benoni.
ER24 spokesperson Chitra
Bodasing explained that the occupants of the vehicle were ejected when the
bakkie rolled.
ER24 paramedics along with
other services arrived on the scene and found the patients spread across the
field.
Upon assessment, paramedics
found that one man, believed to be in his 20’s, had sustained multiple severe
injuries.
Sadly despite all efforts by
paramedics, the man succumbed to his injuries.
Eight other patients sustained
minor to moderate injuries.They were treated and
transported to hospital for further medical care.
Meanwhile, a man sustained
severe injuries while working with a compressing machine at a company in
Springbok Road, in Meyerton in the early hours of this morning.
Bodasing said, the man’s feet
became trapped under the machine when he slipped.
His colleagues removed him
from under the machine.
When ER24 paramedics arrived
on scene they found the man seated next to the machine.
He was assessed and found to
have sustained critical injuries. He had sustained multiple
severe injuries to his feet. He was treated and transported
to hospital for further medical care
The exact cause of the
accident is unknown, Bodasing concluded.
