To mark the UN International Day of the Girl Child, today the Western Cape Social Development MEC, Albert Fritz, pledged support for the caring4Girls campaign in partnership with Dischem.

MEC Fritz visited the Dischem store in Canal Walk Shopping Centre and donated sanitary pads towards the initiative.

Fritz says “Today it’s very significant that we are donating sanitary towels on the day of the Girl Child and together with the partnership of Dischem we want to promote project dignity which basically speaks to affording a human right specifically for young girls in our rural areas when they menstruate to have dignity. As government together with the private sector and ordinary community people we will continue to do that.”
