Abalone valued R1.5M Seized

Police yesterday seized Abalone worth R1.5 million after a bakkie was stopped in the Eden Cluster, Western Cape. A 26 year old man was arrested following an intervention by the Western Cape Rural Flying Squad.

“The suspect was arrested following a stop and search operation, the abalone was concealed in the back of a bakkie underneath plastic.” Capt. Pojie said.

The man is due to appear in court on Tuesday 3 November.
