The City of Cape Town’s
Mayoral Committee approved the Festive Season Preparedness Plan for 2015/2016
yesterday.
In a statement, the City says
it will ensure that it is prepared to deal with the risk that accompanies
larger crowds and increased internal movement.
Spokesperson for Executive
Mayor, Pierrinne Leukes says, as a well-run City, it is important to ensure
public safety of residents and visitors.
“The roadblocks that were part
of today are part of the many interventions that are going to be taking place
over the next few months to ensure safety of our residents and visitors across
the city.” Leukes said.
