In a statement issued, the Congress of the People says it is increasingly concerned about the severe impact of the drought gripping the country on agriculture and on food production.

COPE spokesperson Dennis Bloem says, lack of adequate and prompt action on the part of government will seriously compromise food security in the country

“When there is a drought on the farm, the farmers alone are not affected but the entire country is effected because food comes from the farm.” Bloem added.
