A student at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology says that they will not leave residences.

On Monday CPUT posted on their Facebook page that all students had to leave residences by Wednesday at 4pm in order to protect infrastructure.

The students slept outside on Monday evening as a way of gaining support against the institution’s decision.

“We are not going to leave. We are going to remain in our residences. We are going to remain in our campuses.” Student Sibusiso Xabanela said.
