Five people injured in collision near Randfontein

Five people were injured yesterday after two vehicles collided on the R28 in Westonaria near Randfontein.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring reported when ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found both vehicles on the side of the road.

It is understood that one vehicle collided with the second vehicle in the intersection.

“On further assessment, paramedics found that five people had been injured in the collision.” Meiring said.

Fortunately the injuries sustained were only minor.

Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to Laratong Hospital for further treatment.


The cause of the accident is unknown but Local authorities were on scene for further investigations Meiring concluded.
