Earlier this week, the City’s
Enviromnental Resource Management Department rescued a young cape grysbok that
was trapped at a factory in Belhar. The animal has been successfully rehomed at
the Bracken Nature Reserve. It is suspected that the young female grysbok
wandered from the nearby Cape Flats Nature Reserve near the University of the
Western Cape onto the factory’s premises. City’s Mayoral Committee Member for
Energy, Environmental and Spatial Planning, Johan van der Merwe…..
“We want to thank city officials and company
staff for their involvement\nt in rescuing a bokkie that was trapped on the
factory premises. The bokkie was not harmed and is now enjoying her new home at
the Bracken nature reserve”
