Masiphumelele community leader is bailed

A Masiphumelele community leader who was implicated in several vigilante attacks in the area is due back in the dock early next year. Lubabalo Vellem made his third appearance in the Simons Town Magistrates Court on Monday. 

A crowd of supporters clapped and cheered as Vellem exited the gates of the Simons Town Magistrates Court on Monday afternoon after being released on bail of R5,000. Vellem is facing multiple charges including murder and grievous bodily harm in connection with mob justice incidents.
