The Democratic Alliance calls on the Public Protector, Thuli Madonsela, to launch an investigation into the alleged abuse of executive power by President Jacob Zuma.

This relates to the manner in which, at least one ANC member was allegedly offered a cabinet position in exchange for committing to make Gupta-friendly executive decisions.

DA Spokesperson Mabine Seabe says “As the DA we contain that the Public Protector should investigate whether President Zuma violated the executive ethics act by exposing himself to a situation involving a conflict of action between he’s responsibilities and private interest”.
