EC Butterworth man sentenced 20-years for raping a 14-year old

Eastern Cape’s Butterworth Regional Magistrate Court has convicted and sentenced 30-year old Sibulele Mbila for raping a 14-year old girl on 21 January 2015.

SAPS spokesperson Captain Jackson Manatha says, it is alleged the victim was in company of her friend whilst they came across with the accused at Msobomvu Township.

“It is also alleged that the accused proposed love to the victim and the victim refused. The accused then dragged the victim into his house and raped her”, said Manatha

Butterworth Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit investigated the case and later arrested the accused.

The accused was sentenced 20-years in prison, adds Manatha.
