Police arrested a suspect in Nyanga for possession of an illegal fire arm

Last night members attached to the Western Cape Flying Squad received information about suspects who were in possession of an illegal firearm in the Nyanga area.

The suspects were approached and searched and found to be in the possession of a 9mm firearm.

They were arrested and detained. Shortly after this arrest, the same members acted on more information and searched two Somalian men, also in Nyanga and arrested them for being in possession of a 7.65 firearm.

Once charged, the five suspects are due to make a court appearance in Athlone.
