The Democratic Alliance has alledgedly turned down a
request to meet the CEO of Gupta-linked company, Oakbay Investments.
In a
letter addressed to party leader Mmusi Maimane, Nazeem Howa asked him to appeal
to several banks to review their decision to close Oakbay’s bank accounts
because it may lead to significant job losses.
But
the party has dismissed the request as inappropriate.
Last week, it emerged that the ministers of
finance, mineral resources and labour would be interacting with
the banks to discuss the account closures.
Members
of the Gupta family have allegedly resigned from all non-executive and executive
positions in the company.
