South Africans will have to
dig deeper into their pockets this month. The Energy Department announced late
last night that petrol will increase by 88 cents a litre, diesel by 95 cents
and paraffin by 76 cents.
The department has attributed
these increases to the increase in fuel levies, transportation costs and the
average increase in the prices of petroleum products in the international
markets.
The Automobile Association
this week said motorists will need to brace themselves for a big increase in
the petrol price this month due to the high international oil price, and the 30
cents fuel levy announced by Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan in his February
budget.
