A crowd of Khayelitsha mothers has called on police to step up investigations into the disappearance of a local woman.

Anelisa Dulaze was reported missing two months ago after a night out with friends to celebrate her 21st birthday.

Community members held a demonstration yesterday to pressure police to prioritise their search for Dulaze.

Around 50 Khayelitsha residents, including women’s rights group iLitha Labantu, joined Dulaze's mother, Vathiswa, in a protest march to the local police station yesterday.

The group are demanding swift action in the police investigation.
