One person died and four others injured when two vehicles collided in Vanderbijlpark, south Gauteng.

The collision, which involved a bakkie and a light motor vehicle, took place on the corners of Langenhoven and Faraday roads in the early hours of the morning, said ER24 spokesperson Pieter Rossouw.

The woman was declared dead on scene. Four people were left with minor to moderate injuries. They were taken to hospital for further treatment.

"When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found that one of the passengers in the bakkie, a woman, had sustained fatal injuries," he said.
