Police in the Western Cape allegedly confiscated two guns during a shoot-out between suspects in Delft.

Police say the Z88 9mm pistols discovered are normally used by the South African Police Service.

Following this discovery, Delft police have been flooded with information from the community that at least 30 SAPS guns are in circulation among gang members in the gang-ravaged areas of Delft and Westbank.

Meanwhile, residents allegedly said it was common knowledge that SAPS members hired out guns that were handed back after a hit was carried out.

However, MEC for Community Safety Dan Plato, in a statement strongly condemned the claims saying it was not the first time that this had surfaced and that the claims warranted an immediate independent investigation.

Western Cape Mayoral committee member of safety says…“In response to a land invention that was stopped by law enforcement earlier today.”

“They seem to be an additional issues and the conflict between the ANC ward counsellor Nono.

ANC ward counsellor Nono and the aspirant ANC ward counsellor carter in the Area and in the process counsellor Nono’s house has Target and very badly destroyed the rest.” He added

“In process luckily he was not at home and nobody were in the there.” So nobody was injured, last night pupils of the community also burn down the community hall”
