Public Health Clinics are violating Patients Basic Rights

Public clinics, do not meet standards set out by the Office of Health Standards Compliance (OHSC). The findings detail the violation of patients' basic human rights.

Following inspections at close to 2 000 health facilities, around the country. Patients sleep on floors while others are forced to share beds.

The Office has found that some clinics hand out expired medication to patients and that food and medication are kept in the same fridge.


Board Member, Ethelywnn Stellenberg, says “This is totally disgusting. How could we allow this? The constitutional rights of patients are severely violated… it’s really downgrading our society.”
