Suspect in Western Cape court for sexual assault of toddler

A suspect is expected to
appear in the Paarl Magistrate Court today in connection with the recent
sexual assault of a three-year-old girl from Chicago in Lower Paarl.
The child survived the incident. Members of her family say the perpetrator is known to them.
Residents said “they think the incident is linked to an escalation in gang violence in the area in recent weeks. people as young as10-years-old are to blame for the mayhem.
Stones and petrol bombs have been used as weapons in gang wars causing a number of people to be wounded”.
The mother of the child, who cannot be identified, said "she wants justice for her daughter".
