Academic activity at Rhodes
University remain suspended until further notice as anti-rape protests are set
to continue today.
Hundreds of students and some
support staff gathered at the drama department on Prince Alfred road inside the
campus since Monday, demanding immediate action by university management
against the people identified on an anonymous ‘reference list’- a list of the
names of alleged rapists and sexual offenders.
The list which circulated on
social media sites on Monday has been forwarded to the university's management.
The protesters demanded that
these individuals be suspended from the university immediately and later be
expelled.
