Two Police Officials arrested for alleged house break-in

Today members from the SAPS Provincial Crime Unit arrested two police members stationed at Nyanga SAPS.

Two police Officials aged 42 and 43 are expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate Court tomorrow facing charges of house robbery after an incident which happened in November”, said Constable Noloyiso Rwexana.

The two police officials both stationed at Nyanga, were arrested yesterday”, she added.

One was arrested in his resident while the other on was arrested while He was on duty”, she said.

The house robbery occurred in November last year in a house in Retreat both suspects will be appearing in court tomorrow”, She concluded.

Meanwhile… while police were patrolling in Watford Street, Wesbank on Friday, they saw a person taking an object from his waist and throwing it into one of the yards. The man was caught and they found a firearm and 10 rounds of live ammunition.

The following day “ A 23 year old man was disarmed at Engen Garage in Hindle Road when he tried to rob money that was being loaded into the ATM at the garage”, said Captain FC Van Wyk.

He was charged with attempted business robbery”, He said.

In another incident on the same day, four suspects including one female, aged between 19 and 25 years old residing in Old Crossroads were arrested at Old Faure Road at approximately 17:00 in the afternoon”, Said Van Wyk.

They were spotted by patrolling police vehicle while throwing something out of the window”, He said.


They were pulled over and the police found a 7.32 Norinco pistol with 5 live ammunition”, He concluded.
