The DA says Parliament's
Ethics Committee acted unlawfully when it found its leader Mmusi Maimane guilty
of not declaring all his financial interests.
The Ethics Committee found
that Maimane had failed to declare to Parliament financial donations to his
2015 internal elections campaign when he was contesting for the position of
party leader. The party now wants the Cape High Court to set the ruling aside.
The DA found the verdict biased
and when their appeals failed, accused the committee of being a political
hit-squad for the ANC.
