The Western Cape MEC of Human
Settlements, Bonginkosi Madikizela, is set to hand over a number of houses to
beneficiaries of the Mount Pleasant and Swartdamweg Site A Housing Project
today.
The project, which falls under
the Integrated Residential Development Programme subsidy funding, as provided
by the Western Cape Department of Human Settlements, has yielded 220 Breaking
New Ground housing opportunities at a cost of approximately R37.5 million.
Practical completion of the
houses concerned was reached on 31 March 2016.
A total of 7 disabled units
were also constructed as part of the project, offering relief to relevant
disabled beneficiaries on Overstrand's housing allocation list.
Minister Bonginkosi Madikizela
will deliver a keynote address, followed by a speech from Overstrand Executive
Mayor, Nicolette Botha-Guthrie
