The State believes DNA evidence will prove Henri van Breda killed his parents and his older brother with an axe.

The prosecution today revealed details of the case against the 21-year-old who handed himself over to police yesterday.

He’s charged with the January 2015 murders at the De Zalze Golf Estate in Stellenbosch, as well as the attempted murder of his teenage sister and defeating the ends of justice for allegedly trying to mislead police.

He was granted bail of R100,000 in the Stellenbosch Magistrates Court. The prosecution revealed DNA analysis proves blood found on van Breda and his clothes belonged to his murdered parents and older brother.

Post-mortems show Martin, Teresa and Rudi Van Breda died due to head injuries.
