Relatives
of a man accused of killing a senior Grassy Park police officer say key
evidence will free him.
Speaking
to reporters outside court yesterday,
Luyanda Tafeni's family believe his car tracker will prove he was not on the
crime scene.
Tafeni
and his co-accused Mhlangabezi Mqulo each face murder charges for shooting
Constable Lindekile Sikade outside his Philippi-East home earlier this year.
Tafeni’s
family is adamant a tracking device will clear him of any wrong doing.
Sikade
was shot dead in his driveway while sitting in a marked police vehicle.
The men
will remain in custody in Pollsmoor Prison until their next court appearance on
4 July.
