18-year old arrested for possession of illegal firearm

Police members of Bishop Lavis Crime Prevention Unit arrested an 18 year old male for the illegal possession of a Taurus pistol, ammunition and one magazine.

The teenager is appearing in the Bishop Lavis Magistrates Court today.

In an unrelated incident, yesterday police members were busy with patrols in Robert Sobukwe Drive when they pulled over a suspicious vehicle.

Upon searching the vehicle and the four occupants a 9mm Lorcin firearm with ammunition were found.


The suspects are due to appear in court soon.
