ANC might face by-elections in BCM

The ANC in Buffalo City Metro might be forced to hold by-elections immediately after the local government elections after it emerged that it had allegedly mistakenly mixed up two candidates.

It is not clear whether the mix-up happened during the submissions of proportional representation and ward candidate lists by the party, or when the Independent Electoral Commission was finalising the lists.

The two affected wards are ward 27 in Gonubie and Mzamomhle and ward 28 in Beacon Bay.
