ANC pays last respect to Province’s first Chairman

Mbasa Gqokoma
20 July 2016

More than 3000 people, some members of the ANC including the ANC’s National Chairperson Baleka Mbete descended on Bhisho yesterday.

This was when members went to pay their last respect to the party’s first Eastern Cape provincial Chairman, Dumisani Mazolo Mafu who passed away more than a week ago.

Mafu, who was also a commander in the ANC’s military wing, Mkhonto weSizwe, died in Port Alfred on July 9, apparently of cardiac failure.

Meanwhile, Mbete said it was a painful feeling for the ANC and the entire country to lose a cadre of comrade Mazolo’s calibre.
