AWB head due in court on guns charges

An AWB leader and his associate are expected to appear Vereeniging Magistrate’s Court today charged with the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.



The pair were arrested on Wednesday. The 48-year-old Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging leader was allegedly found at a house in Vanderbijlpark with two rifles, two shotguns, two pistols, and 2 136 rounds of ammunition.



They arrested the second man, a 42-year-old AWB member, at a second address, in La Paradiso estate, Vanderbijlpark.




He was allegedly found in possession of 306 live rounds for a 22 milimeter rifle, nine rifles and three pistols.
