EFF candidate for Tshwane has been disqualified

An Economic Freedom Fighters candidate for Tshwane has been disqualified after a racist rant on Facebook.

Journalist has confirmed that judgment has been handed down in the case against Thabo Mabotja, who was charged with breaching the electoral code of conduct.

Mabotja was pulled before the Electoral Court after posting on Facebook his view that all white people should be “hacked and killed”.

Counsel for the Independent Electoral Commission argued that he should be disqualified from contesting in Wednesday’s municipal elections, according to television channel.

The court issued its judgment a short while ago, and the Mabotja is no longer a candidate.
