Police are on high alert ahead of Wednesday's local government elections.
Government strongly warns that it will take tough action against anyone who will attempt to disrupt the polls.
Police Minister Nathi Nhleko says there will heavy police presence across the country.
He says officers will be assigned to escort IEC officials and to secure ballot papers.
This also comes as the African National Congress and the Economic Freedom Fighters are set to hold their final rallies ahead of Wednesday's local government elections.
The EFF will hold its final rally at the Peter Mokaba stadium in Polokwane.
The Independent Electoral Commission in Mpumalanga said its all systems go for the next week's local government elections.
The commission yesterday launched the provincial results centre just outside Mbombela.
