Western Cape MEC of Community Safety, Dan Plato will today and Thursday host the Policing Needs and Priorities consultation session for the Da Gamaskop policing clusters in Mossel Bay.

MEC spokesperson Ewald Botha says the consultation provides the communities a chance to raise their safety.

Botha says “The Southern Cape leg of PNP consultations bring about the half way mark for the 2016 Policing Needs and Priorities process in the province which will see the Department of Community Safety holding public consultation sessions for each of the 16 police clusters between May and October this year.”

He added that “ The Da Gamaskop PNP consultation provides the communities of Albertinia, Barrydale, Da Gamaskop, Goroot Brakvier, Heidelberg, Kwanonqaba and others a chance to raise issues.

A key feature of the 2016/2017 PNP process will be extensive training provided to Neighbourhood Watches and Community Policing Forums- the pulse of citizen-led safety interventions in our communities.” he concluded.
